Overview

For the release of Deftones’ album ‘Private Music’, Edd was invited to direct the music video for their single ‘Cut Hands’. Drawing on the band’s use of snake imagery, Edd explored the mythology and symbolism of snakes throughout history, particularly their associations with rebirth and the cyclical forces of nature. The film’s narrative follows a person, isolated within our current society of ecological collapse, mass surveillance, and societal degradation, who dies and is reborn as a snake.

The film was created fully analogue with 2100+ frames hand-printed cyanotype.
