Gaia Alari’s music video for Iron & Wine’s ‘Roses’ follows two characters through dark lakes, forests and gardens in the sky, switching roles between predator and prey as the story moves through cycles of nature, life and death. Made entirely by hand from around 1,000 individually drawn and coloured works on paper, the animation brings a tactile, dreamlike quality to the track, with one scene transforming fluidly into the next.
