A.I. Beauty Portraits

Overview

Mat collaborated with Berlin based digital artist Claudia Rafael on a series of images and films exploring extreme beauty interpreted by artificial intelligence. Taking Mat’s original beauty images, A.I. learned how to mimic them over a series of weeks, slowly perfecting how they were rendered. Mat and Claudia then selected pieces where the technology hasn’t fully mastered the information, presented as a portfolio of digital paintings and morphing videos.
