Overview

A cut-out animation film created by Winston Hacking to accompany Canadian indie-folk artist Andy Shauf’s track, The Magician.

Hacking’s mum gave him a bunch of old postcards from his grandparents’ collection which became the starting point for the idea and the backdrop to the video. Shauf’s performance is blended and ‘paperteered’ into Hacking’s collage world seamlessly, using a combination of stills and live footage.
