Tate Britain – Matisse

Overview

Mat Maitland was commissioned by Tate to create a trailer for their blockbuster exhibition, Matisse: The Cut-Outs. Working with animator Paul Plowman, he created a short that evokes Matisse’s working process later in life, when he began ‘carving in colour’ with scissors.
